Saiki City will host its first “Saiki Kanburi Festival,” a campaign themed around the local winter delicacy kanburi (winter yellowtail). During the event period, restaurants and accommodations across Saiki will offer limited-time special menus using kanburi caught in Saiki.

Recognized as one of Japan’s top yellowtail-producing regions, Saiki brings in kanburi in the winter when its fat content and flavour are at their peak. We invite you to savour this seasonal delight that can only be enjoyed at this time of year.

In restaurants throughout the city, you can enjoy kanburi in a variety of ways—such as sashimi, nigiri sushi, and kanburi rice bowls, among other styles.
