Hyoishimizu Onsen on Himeshima Island has long utilized the island’s natural spring known as Hyoshimizu. This onsen is part of the Himeshima Village Health Management Center, where visitors can enjoy its soothing waters.

The facility offers two types of baths: one using the unaltered spring water and another adjusted to a comfortable 40°C. From the bath, you can take in stunning views of the Seto Inland Sea while soaking.

The onsen’s waters, classified as bicarbonate spring, are said to help with cuts, dry skin, cold sensitivity, and autonomic nervous system disorders. The spring water is also drinkable and is believed to be beneficial for conditions such as diabetes, gout, and digestive health.

Himeshima Island is famous for its "Seven Mysteries of Himeshima," one of which is the Hyoishimizu spring. Legend has it that a princess once clapped her hands in prayer, causing the spring to burst forth.
