Tsukumi Port Festival

Light and Sound Dancing Across the Waters of Tsukumi Port

The Tsukumi Port Festival takes place over two days in and around Tsukumin Park and JR Tsukumi Station.

On the first day, the “Soiya! Tsukumi” dance event is held along the street in front of JR Tsukumi Station. Local teams dressed in matching happi coats and colorful costumes parade and perform energetic dances through the station area, marking the grand opening of the festival.

The highlight of the second day is the Tsukumi Port Festival Fireworks Display, renowned nationwide for its “one of the largest shell fireworks in Kyushu.” Reflected across the vast waters of Tsukumi Port, the dazzling fusion of light and sound captivates all who attend. The spectacular show builds toward a breathtaking finale featuring starmines, Niagara-style fireworks, and a rapid succession of giant fireworks.
